The second meeting to review the strategic plan of the Vice President for International Affairs of Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) was held on Nov. 8, 2025, in the conference hall of the Office. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Office of the President, Deputies, and faculty members, focusing on various aspects of the strategic plan.

Key Highlights

• Presentation of Goals: Dr. Hassan Esfandiar, Director of International Relations Development, presented the general goals of the strategic plan, which had been reviewed and revised in a previous meeting. He emphasized the significance of international interactions and the development of scientific and educational cooperation with foreign universities and research centers.

• Discussion of Current Needs: Representatives from each Deputy of the Vice President reviewed their current situations and specialized needs, offering suggestions to improve the university's performance and enhance its international status.

• Strategic Plan Components: The meeting covered topics such as the analysis of upstream documents from the university and the Ministry of Health, the components of the strategic plan, and key stakeholder analysis. Members also reviewed and revised the vision, mission, and organizational values of the International Office to establish the main frameworks for finalizing the strategic plan.

• Content Analysis Model: A content analysis model was introduced to extract key policy and decision-making axes. The alignment of these processes with the macro policies of Iran University of Medical Sciences was emphasized.

• Convergence of Programs: Members highlighted the importance of aligning international programs with the university's macro goals to enhance its status in education, research, and technology.

Next Steps

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided to send the edited file of the strategic plan to the members for review. They will provide their feedback to the office, and the final framework of the strategic plan will be approved and implemented in future meetings.
