On August 4, 2025, an online meeting took place between Dr. Nader Tavakoli, President of Iran University of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Sergei Rubnikovich, President of the Belarusian State Medical University. This meeting focused on enhancing scientific and educational collaboration between the two institutions.

Attended by the vice presidents for international affairs and education from both universities, the discussion highlighted several key areas for cooperation. Dr. Tavakoli emphasized the importance of implementing joint educational programs, both short-term and long-term, facilitating the exchange of faculty and students, and organizing visits for faculty members to various educational centers and hospitals. Additionally, he underscored the significance of sharing information and technical expertise, particularly in the areas of hospital modernization and advancements in modern medicine. The aim is to leverage the experiences of both universities to train specialized human resources in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, paramedical fields, and other related disciplines.

Dr. Sergey Rubnikovich acknowledged the esteemed position of the Belarusian State Medical University among the top five universities in Belarus. He expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of the meeting and conveyed the Belarusian side's readiness to foster collaboration in organizing scientific congresses, conducting joint research, facilitating the exchange of faculty and students, and providing educational services to Iranian students.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to draft a memorandum of understanding, along with a joint implementation plan, to formalize their commitment to cooperation in the near future.
