The Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education has announced the official approval for the introduction of the "Health Diplomacy" major at the doctoral level (Ph.D.) at the Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS).

According to the Public Relations Department of the Iran University of Medical Sciences, this decision was made during the 295th meeting of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities, held on August 8, 2025. The Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education has sanctioned the establishment of this new academic program.

The "Health Diplomacy" major aims to train specialists adept in health diplomacy, leveraging the country’s scientific and international resources in the realms of health and treatment. This initiative is designed to enhance the capacity for effective health diplomacy on both national and international stages.

Furthermore, it is important to note that a student admission permit has been issued for the inaugural course, and the Iran University of Medical Sciences will oversee the implementation of this educational program.
