Iran University of Medical Sciences was ranked the best and most influential university among the universities in Iran in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023.

Dr. Mehdi Moghtadaei, the IUMS Vice President for International Affairs announced that the Iran University of Medical Sciences was ranked first in the Times Impact Ranking 2023 for the fifth year in a row.

“This ranking, conducted by the Times Higher Education Rankings Institute since 2019, tries to evaluate the performance of the world's universities in relation to the seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Considering the importance of sustainable development for countries, the Times Impact Ranking has been widely welcomed by the world's universities since its inception. Accordingly, since the first year of ranking, the number of ranked universities has boosted from about 470 universities to nearly 1600 universities from more than 110 countries in the latest ranking of the institution, 2023,” noted Dr. Moghtadaei.

The IUMS Vice President for International Affairs added, “This year, 20 universities from Iran have been evaluated in the last ranking of the Times Impact Ranking, and Iran University of Medical Sciences kept its top position for the fifth consecutive year among the Iranian universities thanks to its extensive measures and activities as well as providing comprehensive services to the population under coverage and playing an effective role in all-round development. Based on the ranking, this year Iran University of Medical Sciences has been ranked in four goals, including goal 10 (reducing inequalities), goal 3 (good health and well-being), goal 4 (quality education), and goal 17(partnerships for the goals).”
