The educational accreditation for ten medical centers affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) has been successfully extended. Following a recent assessment of medical educational centers, five institutions achieved the highest level of accreditation, receiving a five-year accreditation order, while five others were granted a four-year accreditation order.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Vice President for Education at Iran University, this accreditation process aligns with the university's mission, as designated by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Last year, a total of 235 medical educational centers associated with 54 universities and medical schools across the country were evaluated for educational accreditation. The results of these evaluations were subsequently submitted to the University Development and Evaluation Council for the issuance of the relevant accreditation orders.

The teaching hospitals of Iran University of Medical Sciences that received a five-year accreditation order include:

  • Hazrat Ali Asghar
  • Shafa Yahyaian
  • Iran Psychiatry
  • Firouzabadi

Additionally, five teaching hospitals —Shahid Motahari, Firoozgar, Shahid Hasheminejad, Shahid Akbarabadi, and Shohada-ye Haftom Tir—achieved a four-year accreditation by obtaining more than 80% of the basic score and over 70% of the preferential score.

This accomplishment reflects a significant enhancement in the quality of clinical education and underscores the commitment of universities to elevate medical education standards. It represents a crucial advancement in the development of the medical education system in Iran.

Since 2016, the executive secretariat for the accreditation of the country's teaching hospitals has been entrusted to Iran University of Medical Sciences by the relevant ministry.
