A Comprehensive Facility Offering Specialized Neurological Services in West Tehran

The specialized neurology clinic at Shohada-ye-Malard Hospital has officially opened, establishing itself as one of the most advanced medical centers in West Tehran. This facility offers a range of services, including electroencephalography (EEG), neuromuscular and muscle electromyography, and carotid artery ultrasound, all of which are fully covered by government and insurance provisions.

In a recent interview with the public relations team of Iran University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Mehdi Nouri, the head of Shohada-ye-Malard Hospital, announced the inauguration of this specialized neurology clinic. He highlighted that the clinic operates as the most equipped paraclinical neurology unit in West Tehran, providing essential services such as EEG, neuromuscular electromyography, and carotid artery ultrasound to patients.

Dr. Nouri further explained that an independent unit has been established within the hospital to facilitate these services, with all necessary equipment installed and operational. Previously, patients in the region were required to seek treatment at private facilities or hospitals in Tehran for similar services. Now, these critical services are readily available through government support and at insurance-covered rates.

Regarding patient intake, Dr. Nouri noted that the clinic currently accommodates approximately 25 patients weekly for EEG services and several patients daily for neuromuscular and muscle electromyography. He emphasized that, with significantly lower fees compared to the private sector—where costs can soar to four million Tomans—we anticipate a substantial increase in patient visits as awareness grows.

In addition to existing services, Dr. Nouri announced the recent addition of neck ultrasound to the clinic's offerings, which will be conducted only upon a physician's prescription. Patients are encouraged to schedule appointments to access EEG and neuromuscular electromyography services.

Concluding the announcement, Dr. Nouri shared plans to implement an online appointment system, stating, "Our goal is to make specialized neurology services more accessible, efficient, and affordable for the residents of the region."
