According to the Public Relations Department of the Vice Presidency for Student and Cultural Affairs, the Vice Presidency for Health has announced that National Seniors Week will be observed from September 30 to October 6, 2025, in alignment with the International Day of the Elderly. The theme for this year’s event is "Preserving Dignity, Promoting Health, and Quality of Life of the Elderly through Neighborhood-Centered Initiatives." Activities will be hosted at the Ministry of Health headquarters, as well as at universities and medical schools nationwide.

This year's programming is specifically designed to improve the quality of life, physical and mental health, and social engagement of the elderly population. The initiatives will focus on three primary areas: education and awareness, respect and social participation, and the promotion of physical, mental, and social health for elderly individuals.

The schedule for National Seniors Week is as follows:

  • Tuesday, September 30: Elderly and Social Status
  •
  • Wednesday, October 1: Elderly and Physical Health
  •
  • Thursday, October 2: Elderly and Mental Health
  •
  • Friday, October 3: Elderly and Family
  •
  • Saturday, October 4: Elderly and Social Participation
  •
  • Sunday, October 5: Elderly and Social Support
  •
  • Monday, October 6: Elderly, Spirituality, and Life Expectancy
  •

Throughout this week, a series of activities will be implemented, including webinars and educational workshops, the production of informative posters and media, media campaigns, cultural and social festivals, light sports activities, meetings with successful elderly individuals, and the establishment of health stations to provide free medical consultations and services. These efforts align with the broader goals of population and family policies outlined by the Supreme Leader, the Seventh National Progress Program, and the objectives set forth in the National Elderly Document, in collaboration with relevant agencies.
