Training of health service providers will reduce injuries
Referring to the importance of training health service providers in reducing injuries, Dr. Mehdi Moghtadaei, the Vice President for International Affairs of Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) noted: Improving the quality of healthcare and safety services to patients is considered one of the priorities of health and treatment systems in the world.
In his speech in the opening ceremony of the 5-day online virtual course on Quality of Healthcare & Patient Safety held by the Office of Vice President for International Affairs in cooperation with the Office of Vice President for Treatment on Feb. 20-24, 2023, he also hoped that the participants would have a good achievement and would be effective in their therapeutic and clinical performance.
Dr. Moghtadaei continued, “Today, improving the quality of health and safety services for patients is one of the priorities of health and treatment systems in the world, so the necessity of holding such training courses is felt more than ever.”
Then, Dr. Nader Tavakoli, the Vice President for Treatment at Iran University of Medical Sciences and the Scientific Secretary of the course, stated that providing safe services to patients is the concern of all accreditation models as well as quality improvement methods in medical centers.”
He continued, “All the instructions should lead us to provide safe medical services with the least complications and at the best time. The topics of this five-day course include the development and implementation of patient safety, human factors in safety, safety promotion techniques, safety indicators and methods of measuring it, quality improvement methods with an emphasis on analysis, infection control in hospital, an effective working group, as well as the use of new technologies in quality of healthcare and patient safety.”
