A national meeting focused on the development and administrative transformation of Iran's medical universities and affiliated organizations is currently taking place at the Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) on November 11 and 12, 2025. The event featured the Deputy Minister for Management and Resources Development of the Ministry of Health, alongside senior managers from the health system.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Eng. Taher Mohabati, Deputy Minister for Management, Resources, and Planning Development; Dr. Ahmad Javanmard, Head of the Center for Management and Human Resources Development; Dr. Nader Tavakoli, President of Iran University of Medical Sciences; and Dr. Peyman Namdar, the IUMS Vice President for Development. Discussions centered on innovative strategies for organizational transformation and the enhancement of human resource development within the health sector.

Unveiling of the Book on Health Deputy Responsibilities

During the meeting, the book titledDuties of Health Deputy Posts at University Headquarters and Faculties of Medical Scienceswas unveiled. This publication, authored by Taher Mohabati, Ahmad Javanmard, Mahmoud Samadpour, Mehrangiz Haqgou, and Saeed Lak, reflects collaborative efforts with contributions from Dr. Alireza Raisi, Deputy Minister of Health.

Emphasis on Data-Driven Educational Transformation

Dr. Peyman Namdar highlighted the critical need for transformation in educational practices and human resource development. 

He emphasized that university education should extend beyond traditional classroom settings and integrate into real clinical environments and hospitals. The overarching goal is to ensure that research directly benefits the nation's health system rather than serving solely academic interests. The meeting will continue tomorrow with specialized sessions that will share university experiences and review development programs focused on administrative and human resources.
