According to the results of Taiwan Rankings 2023, Iran University of Medical Sciences has been ranked among the top universities in the world.

Dr. Asgar Aghaei, the Director of Accreditation and Ranking of the Office of Vice President for International Affairs of the Iran University of Medical Sciences explained the details of the university’s global position based on the results of Taiwan Rankings 2023.

According to the latest global ranking by Taiwan National University, Iran University of Medical Sciences has been ranked 650-601 among the top universities in the world. The university has become the seventh top university in the country (among 18 ranked universities in Iran) and the fourth top medical university in the country (among eight ranked medical universities in Iran).

The University of Tehran has been ranked as the top university in the country with a global ranking of 286 among 18 ranked universities in Iran, based on Taiwan Rankings 2023. The ranking was based on assessing more than 1,000 top universities in the world in terms of three indicators of productivity, research impact, and excellence, as well as eight criteria (the number of articles in the past 11 years, the number of articles in the past year, the number of citations in the past 11 years, the number of citations two years ago, the average citations in the past 11 years, the H-index two years ago, the number of highly cited articles 10 years ago, and the number of articles published in high-impact journals in the past two years).

The assessment was done automatically without any self-declaration by universities. The Dr. Aghaei emphasized that this ranking focused more on the quality rather than quantity of scientific publications, and 75% of the final score was based on the scientific quality of publications.
