Celebrating Cultural Diversity
The Food Festival of Nations at Iran University of Medical Sciences
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Food Festival of Nations was held at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), organized through the collaboration of the Vice President for International Affairs and the Vice President for Student and Cultural Affairs. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and a warm reception from the university community, reflecting a spirit of empathy and friendship among diverse cultures.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Vice President for International Affairs, the festival aimed to familiarize attendees with the customs and culinary traditions of various cities and countries represented at the university. It also sought to foster joy and enthusiasm among both Iranian and international students, which was evident in the enthusiastic turnout from the student body and university officials.
During the festival, 14 groups from different regions showcased their local foods, sweets, and traditional snacks. Participants proudly displayed their rich cultural heritage by donning traditional costumes specific to their regions and preparing local dishes that highlighted their culinary practices.
Notable attendees included Dr. Moghtadaei, Vice President for International Affairs; Dr. Talari, Vice President for Student and Cultural Affairs; Dr. Eftekhari, Advisor to International Vice Presiden and Deputy of Education at the International Campus; Hojjatoleslam Dr. Soleimani, the representative of the Supreme Leader; and Dr. Khorshidi, Deputy of Student Affairs at International Campus. These officials visited all festival booths, expressing appreciation for the students' efforts and participation.
At the conclusion of the event, awards were presented to the top groups based on evaluations of their food offerings and cultural performances:
- First Place: Afghanistan (Sara Fayyaz, Zahra Rezaei, Hanieh Amiri, Mahdieh Latifi)
- Second Place: Tabriz 1, Iran (Mona Ziaei, Mina Akbari, Mohaddeseh Akbari)
- Third Place: Khuzestan, Iran (Hanieh Naghizadeh, Maedeh Jabali, Shirin Mokhtari)
- Fourth Place: India (Fatima Benish, Rasool Ozma, Ramadan Midhat, Noor Naari)
- Fifth Place: Iraq 1 (Mohammad Ghasem Plan, Mohammad Taghi Naeem, Mohammad Plan)
The Food Festival of Nations not only celebrated culinary diversity but also reinforced the bonds of friendship and understanding among the university's diverse student body.
