Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) has demonstrated remarkable success in the QS global rankings during its second year of participation, particularly in the fields of nursing, medicine, life sciences, and international standing.

According to a report from the university's Public Relations Office, Dr. Mehdi Moghtadaei, Vice President for International Affairs, emphasized the significance of the QS ranking as one of the most esteemed international assessments widely referenced by educational institutions. He noted that this ranking plays a crucial role in guiding prospective international students, serving as a vital reference in their university selection process.

Dr. Moghtadaei elaborated that the QS ranking evaluates universities across four primary domains: education, research, employability, and internationalization. The indicators used in the QS global ranking encompass scientific reputation, employer evaluation, faculty-to-student ratio, citation rates for faculty members, the ratio of international students to international faculty, the international research network, labor market absorption rates, and sustainable development metrics.

In the 2024 QS subject rankings, Iran University of Medical Sciences achieved a commendable position, securing a rank of 501-550 in the field of medicine upon its initial entry into the QS subject rankings. Notably, the university significantly enhanced its global standing in medical sciences, advancing to a rank of 451-500 and achieving the second position nationally.

Furthermore, for the first time this year, Iran University of Medical Sciences attained impressive rankings in three subject areas. In nursing, the university achieved the top national rank, with a global ranking of 151-225.

In expressing congratulations to the extensive community of Iran University of Medical Sciences for this significant achievement, Dr. Moghtadaei conveyed his aspirations for the university's continued progress. He emphasized the importance of this developmental trajectory as an investment in cultivating skilled health professionals, hoping to witness further advancements in the university's standing in the near future.
