With the efforts and follow-ups of the Office of Vice President for International Affairs of Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) was achieved, and the establishment of the secretariat of this association was entrusted to Iran University of Medical Sciences.

The Asian Medical Students’ Association, established in 1985 for the unity of countries, exchange of knowledge and culture, and assistance in improving each other's healthcare systems, consists of 30 Asian countries working in health-focused educational, research, and cultural fields. The aim of this association is to create a platform for a strong global network of medical students to develop their academic knowledge and interpersonal skills as future physicians.
