Enhancing Pediatric Care with Epilepsy Monitoring Technology
Launch of Advanced EEG Monitoring System at Hazrat Ali Asghar Pediatric Hospital

Hazrat Ali Asghar Children's Hospital, an underspecialized educational and medical center affiliated with IUMS, has officially launched a cutting-edge electroencephalogram (EEG) recording and epilepsy monitoring system in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
The newly installed Natus NicoletOne portable video EEG device features a 32-channel EEG recording capability, specifically designed for comprehensive epilepsy monitoring. This advanced system facilitates continuous 24-hour EEG recording within the PICU, allowing for real-time monitoring of epileptic seizures, interpretation of newborn amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) signals, and automatic detection of seizures and spikes.
The implementation of this technology significantly enhances the hospital's ability to accurately monitor patients' brain activity, leading to expedited diagnoses and optimized treatment management. The introduction of this equipment marks a pivotal advancement in the quality of medical services provided to children and infants in the hospital's specialized wards, reflecting the institution's commitment to delivering exceptional pediatric healthcare.
