According to the International Relations Development Directorate of the university, this meeting was hosted by the Vice-Presidency for International Affairs of Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) to focus on infrastructure resilience management, safety enhancement, and the transformation of hospitals into green and sustainable healthcare facilities. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Afshin Kalantari, Head of the UN-Habitat Office in Iran, reviewed the achievements of the Behtab 1 and 2 projects, delivered a report on high-level consultations, outlined the goals of the Behtab 3 project, and emphasized the necessity of establishing specialized executive committees. Following this, Dr. Esfandiar, Director of International Cooperation Development at IUMS, highlighted the university's prominent status and its selection as the primary reference and lead executor for the Behtab 3 project, stating the university's full readiness to steer this international initiative. Emphasizing the central leadership role of the Vice-Presidency for International Affairs in the overall direction of the project, the Director of International Cooperation Development stated: 'Achieving the goals of this project in metropolitan resilience and transitioning toward green, eco-friendly hospitals requires clarifying organizational structures, drafting a precise timeline, and fostering cross-sectoral synergy among the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, and the Tehran Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization (TDMMO). The Vice-Presidency for International Affairs will rigorously lead these inter-institutional collaborations.' During the session, Dr. Seyed Ali Sharifi, Deputy for Prevention and Risk Reduction at the Tehran Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization, praised IUMS for its pioneering initiative and expressed the municipality's full readiness to cooperate under the management and coordination of this project. Additionally, Eng. Behzad Mokri, Director of Physical Resources at the university, presented a report on technical assessments conducted across affiliated hospitals. He further elaborated on the technical aspects, considerations for upgrading infrastructure into green healthcare centers, UN-Habitat's international credit financial mechanisms, the necessity of engaging experienced domestic consulting engineers, and the foreign exchange exchange mechanisms related to the initiative.
