A Milestone Achievement
First Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery Successfully Conducted at Fatemeh Zahra Hospital

Fatemeh Zahra Teaching Hospital has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of its first laparoscopic gallbladder surgery.
Dr. Kamali Hakim, the hospital director, announced this groundbreaking procedure, marking a pivotal moment in the hospital's surgical history. He stated, "Today, we successfully performed the first laparoscopic gallbladder surgery at Fatemeh Zahra Teaching Hospital."
Dr. Hakim emphasized that this achievement represents a substantial advancement in enhancing the quality of surgical services provided to patients. He noted, "This success is a significant step toward incorporating modern and minimally invasive techniques into our surgical offerings. Laparoscopic surgery not only shortens recovery times for patients but also enhances their overall satisfaction by minimizing pain and resulting in smaller incisions."
He further elaborated on the procedure, stating, "Laparoscopic surgery, often referred to as 'keyhole' surgery, is an advanced minimally invasive technique. It involves the surgeon making several small incisions in the abdomen while utilizing a camera and specialized instruments. This method offers numerous advantages over traditional open surgery (laparotomy), including reduced postoperative pain and quicker recovery."
This landmark procedure underscores Fatemeh Zahra Teaching Hospital's commitment to adopting innovative surgical techniques and improving patient outcomes.
