Finalization of the Strategic Plan for the Vice President for International Affairs
On December 23, 2025, a pivotal meeting was convened to finalize the strategic plan of the Vice President for International Affairs at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS). This session aimed to complete, edit, and refine the draft strategic plan with contributions from key stakeholders in the field.
During the meeting, Dr. Mamak Eftekhari, Executive Deputy Vice President for International Affairs, shared her insights and recommendations for enhancing international relations and fostering global cooperation at the university. Additionally, Dr. Hassan Esfandiar, Director of International Relations Development and Head of Strategic Planning, explored strategies to elevate the level of international collaboration and synergy with esteemed foreign universities.
Following this, Dr. Zabihi, a member of the Accreditation Working Group at the School of Medicine, presented critical points regarding the editing and compilation of the strategic plan. She emphasized the necessity for meticulous alignment of programs with both national and international accreditation standards. This segment of the meeting incorporated valuable feedback from colleagues within the School of Medicine, leading to several constructive amendments.
A primary objective of the meeting was to ensure that the International Office's initiatives align with the country's overarching educational documents while leveraging specialized expertise in academic and international accreditation processes.
This gathering provided an invaluable platform for reflection and dialogue among university officials, facilitating more comprehensive planning aimed at enhancing the university's international operations, particularly in education, research, and the advancement of scientific collaboration with prestigious institutions worldwide.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the proposed amendments were implemented, and the strategic plan for the University's International Office was finalized. It was agreed that the plan would soon be officially announced for implementation.
