Establishment of International Branch of Iran University of Medical Sciences in Ghana
In a significant step towards the internationalization of the Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), the university has established an international branch in Ghana. This branch includes the newly formed School of Nursing and Midwifery, which was launched through the dedicated efforts of the International Affairs Development Unit within the IUMS Office of the Vice President for International Affairs in Ghana.
According to a report from the Public Relations Office of the Vice President for International Affairs at Iran University of Medical Sciences, the School of Nursing and Midwifery has successfully obtained an official operating license from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) with the collaboration of the Islamic University of Ghana.
This initiative aligns with the university's policies on internationalization and the enhancement of global relations in medical education. It aims to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and expertise from Iran's esteemed professors in nursing and midwifery. This achievement follows extensive negotiations and meetings with officials from both the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Ministry of Health of Ghana.
The International Branch of Iran University of Medical Sciences is now actively recruiting students for its nursing and midwifery programs, starting from February 2025.
