Dr. Samadi Advocates for Educational Reform in Regenerative Medicine
Dr. Ali Samadi Koucheksaraei, the Scientific Secretary of the Fifth Congress on Advances in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, emphasized the urgent need for reforming educational policies and developing standardized infrastructures to advance regenerative medicine. Speaking at the congress, he acknowledged the efforts of the organizing teams and highlighted the importance of presenting an accurate picture of the country's scientific status in this field.
Dr. Samadi noted that the congress aimed to illustrate the reduced gap between basic research and clinical application, emphasizing the dynamic nature of this transition. He pointed out the rapid growth of regenerative medicine and the necessity for professionals to be adept at analyzing new data.
He advocated for the establishment of specialized fellowship courses to equip graduates with essential skills for industrial and medical environments. Additionally, he raised concerns about current educational policies leading to graduate unemployment due to an oversupply of students without corresponding job opportunities.
Dr. Samadi called for legislative intervention to address employment mechanisms for graduates in clinical settings and highlighted initiatives by Iran University of Medical Sciences to connect graduates with treatment fields. He expressed hope that this model could serve as a national framework for advancing regenerative therapies in the country.
