According to a report from the Vice President for International Affairs at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), a celebratory event for the university's new students was held under the auspices of the Vice President for International Affairs. The ceremony was attended by the university president, the vice president for international affairs, the vice president for student and cultural affairs, the dean of the school of medicine, the deputy of education at International Campus, and other esteemed university officials, alongside a vibrant gathering of international students.

 

The program commenced with remarks from Dr. Nader Tavakoli, President of IUMS, who warmly welcomed the new students. He underscored the significance of scientific and cultural interactions among nations and highlighted the vital role that international students play in enhancing the university's international standing. Tavakoli described IUMS as a dynamic environment conducive to education, research, and knowledge exchange, extending his best wishes for the success of the new students.

 

Dr. Mehdi Moghtadaei, the Vice President for International Affairs, further emphasized that IUMS is recognized as one of the premier medical universities in Tehran. He expressed pride in hosting talented and exceptional students from neighboring countries, noting that this gathering presents a valuable opportunity for both Iranian and international students to engage with one another’s cultures and traditions. Moghtadaei asserted that such interactions would foster shared beliefs and values, thereby mitigating cultural differences and misunderstandings.

 

Additionally, Dr. Mamak Eftekhari, Deputy of Education at the International Campus and Deputy Vice President for International Affairs, commented on the rich cultural heritage of Iran, filled with beautiful attractions. She expressed hope that upon completing their studies, these students would serve as cultural ambassadors in their home countries, sharing the insights and experiences gained during their time in Iran.

 

The event also featured performances by international students from various countries, showcasing a vibrant tapestry of cultural diversity and global solidarity through a series of artistic and ritual presentations. The musical performances added to the celebratory atmosphere, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.

 

To conclude the program, each student was honored with flowers and gifts, symbolizing the university's warm welcome and appreciation for their presence.
