The Phoenix Gathering, recognized as the largest assembly of medical student scientific associations in Iran, was successfully held at the Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) from September 10 - 12, 2025. This significant event, hosted in collaboration with the  Cultural Deputy of the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, marked the first in-person gathering after a six-year hiatus, taking place in the Persian Gulf Hall of IUMS's Student and Cultural Vice Presidency.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Student and Cultural Vice Presidency, the Phoenix Gathering commenced on Wednesday, September 10, and concluded on September 12. The event served as an annual platform for the Medical Student Scientific Associations (IMSA), featuring the presence of Dr. Seyedeh Saleheh Mortazavi, Director of Cultural and Extracurricular Programs at IUMS, who addressed attendees during the final day of the gathering in the Shahid Mofateh Assembly Hall of the School of Allied Medical Sciences.

During the meeting, regional secretaries of IMSA articulated their concerns, challenges, and recommendations regarding the activities of scientific associations. Cultural managers actively engaged in discussions, providing support and insights that aligned with the students' perspectives. This initiative aimed to foster stronger connections between cultural managers and the student body, creating a constructive interactive environment among officials and leaders of student scientific associations.

The three-day gathering included practical workshops tailored specifically for the secretaries of scientific associations, enhancing their skills and collaboration. The opening ceremony featured notable attendees, including Saeed Babaei, Director General of Culture at the Ministry of Health; Dr. Mojtaba Talari, Deputy Director of Student and Cultural Affairs at IUMS; Dr. Mortazavi; Dr. Bahmani, Deputy Director of Student and Cultural Affairs at the School of Medicine; Dr. Hashemi, Deputy Director of Student and Cultural Affairs at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences; Mehran Soheili, Secretary General of the Scientific Association of IMSA; and Ali Farahmand, Secretary General of the Scientific Association of IUMS, along with secretaries from IMSA scientific associations representing 23 medical universities across the country.

Additionally, an informal meeting took place on the sidelines of the gathering, allowing Saeed Babaei to engage directly with students, further enriching the dialogue between cultural authorities and the student community.

This successful event underscores the commitment to enhancing the academic and cultural engagement of medical students in Iran, paving the way for future collaborations and initiatives.
