Hazrat -e Ali Asghar

Hazrat-e Ali Asghar Pediatrics Hospital

Hazrat-e  Ali Asghar Pediatrics Hospital was initially constructed in 1964 under the administration of Nayereh Shiva. It had an area of 5,130 square meters and an infrastructure of 8,500 square meters.

It had the name “Free City”, and the budget was supplied by benefactors. The hospital grew academically in a short amount of time due to renowned physicians such as Dr. A. Mashoof (Pediatric Nephrologist), Dr. Sh. Yoosefi (Pathologist), Dr. A. Khalesi (Pediatric Surgeon), Dr. H. Samai (Infant Specialist), and Dr. P. Vosoogh (Pediatric Oncologist).

After the Islamic Revolution, the hospital was renamed Hazrat–e Ali Asghar and continued its activities as a public hospital under auspices from the Ministry of Public Health in Tehran.

In 1986, it was supported by Iran University of Medical Sciences. Medical students and interns were dispatched to this center to pass relevant courses.

In 1992, students were trained in sub-specialty levels in fields including Infants, Surgery, Blood and Oncology, Endocrinology and Nephrology, and Pediatrics. In 1996, new wards such as Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pediatric Dialysis, and Dentistry were added.

PICU and NICU wards were developed in 2004. A psychiatric ward was also established at this time. And also, the Kamrani Foundation provided one floor of the Gamma Knife Surgery building and allowed the possibility to transfer all clinics to a suitable and standard place.

In this period, with efforts from administrators, nurses and staff, some wards including the Operating Room, Blood, Surgery, and General wards were completely reconstructed and reequipped.

In late 2014, a newly built PICU ward was equipped with a capacity of 20 beds. A new dental ward was constructed, increasing the capacity to three dental units. This helped provide better quality services to clients.

A Radiology Ward was equipped with DR, PACS, and CR devices by the efforts of authorities and donors.
